There is no way around serious and disciplined study...Study will reintroduce us to our tradition as African people...Nothing in the general culture requires us to do this...We must do this work for ourselves on our own initiative...We must conduct study-groups in every community...This is our basic preparation for economic and political action. More important, this is our basic preparation for healing, renewal and for developing our vision of destiny. There is no way we can survive as a people without study. There is no way that study can serve us unless we ACT on what we learn.

In part I of this dynamic series we will examine Akan history and culture within the context of our ongoing quest for Total Afrikan Liberation.
In so doing, we will not rely solely on the writings and/or languages of our enemies, rather we will ground our enquiry in the Akan (Twi) language focusing on indigenous sources  including mmɛ (proverbs), abakɔsɛm ne anansesɛm (ourstorical and narrative stories), nnwom (songs) and more to elucidate the wisdom of our Nananom (Ancestors).
This is definitely a series you don't want to miss! As always, each person enrolled in this study group will be seen as both a teacher and a student. You are therefore actively encouraged to contribute and share your own knowledge and experiences with the collective. Prior knowledge about Akan traditions is not necessary and will not be assumed. We look forward to a powerful session!

Our mission in this discourse is to bring forth a deeper understanding of the AFA/Vodun tradition.  Vodun in particular has historically been extremely demonized by our enemies.  The reason for this can be attributed to the fact that Vodun was the focal point of some of the largest rebellions during the Maafa.  The Haitian revolution, the Seven Finger High Glisters of the Dismal Swamp, and the Hundun(hoodooo)/Root Doctor tradition throughout the North American south are a few instances of the Vodun contribution of Afrikan resistance in the Diaspora.
